Holiday's Gone In Sixty Seconds

Eleanor is just an absolute doll and we cherish her~! She is a very large female, she is tall as well as has massive bone for a female. She weighs 125 pounds at 2 years of of age and is not over weight for her size and structure. Eleanor has an outstanding temperament and is a calm sweet girl. She really looks deep into your eyes to get a read of you~!

We have a fun story on Eleanor and how she got her name....with advanced veterinary medicine we have today, Eleanor's father's semen was shipped via Fed Ex so we could do a surgical insemination on her mother Bonnie. It is quite a process as we have to do daily progesterone testing on the female to time the surgical implant correctly with ovulation.

As you know, mother nature has her own ideas and it surely never is inline with "ours"~! LOL These things tend to always happen so you need a weekend breeding or shipping. It is crazy, but I swear, it is always weekends. Of course, Bonnie was being timed where she would have to have the semen delivered on a SATURDAY...and mind you this was the SATURDAY of Labor Day~! Yikes...well we now know that on these Holidays, they use a skeleton crew, and the Newbies do the routes as the regulars have off the Holidays. Well the regulars know where everyone is located. So on that Saturday we asked for a morning delivery on the semen shipment, mind you this is live cooled fresh semen that has a time limit. So we always await anxiously for the package. I knew it would arrive around or before 10am. Well we waited outside and did some things around the house and acreage and didn't leave our sites off the driveway awaiting our package. Well the time was passing 10am, I was getting nervous, so around 10:30am I went inside and checked the tracking number to see where it was. I was in shock, my heart pounding and couldn't breathe when I read "attempted package delivery, client not home" OMG~ We were here, no way we missed them....so shaking, I called Fed Ex. When you do this call, it is a joke, and you usually have to go thru many calls to get "that right person" who will go above and beyond the call of duty to help you out. The "800" number really doesn't help you much, finally thru many calls and such was able to contact the manager at the sort facility in Sioux Falls, SD to see if he couldn't get a call into the driver and find out what the heck was going on. Mind you, my vet is waiting for us to do the surgery :P She is patient though so I am blessed~! LOL So to make this long story shorter...sorry...they got a message to the driver to call me. He did finally, and come to find out his GPS took him way south of our place, like 5 miles. He tried delivery that package to someone else...can you imagine opening that and wondering what the heck it is and freaking out finding out what the heck it is...LOL The driver now, was out of the area..by a long shot~! This is something that cannot wait till Monday or Tuesday rolls around, so with the conversation, I asked if we could meet him somewhere for the box. Well they are not supposed to do that I guess but he made an exception and we traveled 20 miles down the road and met him at a Casey's Gas Station when he drove back thru and got the package and raced back to get Bonnie and take package and future Mom to vet for the procedure~! It delayed us about 5 hours compared to what were were supposed to do, but it did end up working and we had 5 beautiful puppies.....Well the theme of the litter was the whole part of chasing down the semen...LOL Eleanor's name came from the car I was driving at the time, my fun car, was a Shelby Mustang signed car and my license plate said "Eleanor" from the movie "Gone In Sixty Second's" hence Eleanor's registered name. The other littermates were "Chase", for chasing down the semen, "Francheska" for Fed Ex, "Hunter" for hunting down the semen, and "Casey" for Casey's Gas Station we met the driver at~! So that was our nerve racking day, but it ended well with a beautiful litter of 5 and we got our perfect "Eleanor" ~!

Eleanor's pedigree is about as good as it gets, it starts with her father, BIS BISS GCH CH Adesa's Best In Snow, also known as "Bing". Bing is owned by the great Bobbi Kinley-Blewett and he has been number one Bernese Mountain Dog in the country along with being number one Bernese Mountain Dog in Argentina~! Just this year, 2017, Bing had a Best In Show~! That is super hard to accomplish as you are going against every breed there is in the AKC shows. You are going against the best of the best that compete at Westminster, and to beat everyone of those dogs in a show and become "BEST IN SHOW" is a dream come true for all us competitors, and what we strive to do and to raise...that "Great One"~! I am super proud to have Bing's pedigree in a few of my dogs~! Bing is also a large Berner with great temperament, structure and movement.

Now on to Eleanor's mother, CH Holiday's On The Run, and as we call her "Bonnie". We raised Bonnie and know her pedigree well. I have her Aunts, and her Grandma here. As of September 2017, Bonnie's Aunt Victoria is here at over 8.5 years, her other Aunt Blue is living with friends in MN and is currently 10.5 years old, and their mother, Maria is living with friends in Sioux Falls, SD and she is 11.5 years old~! Great longevity there~! Eleanor's mother Bonnie is and outstanding individual that is powerful, gorgeous, amazing happy temperament, beautiful mover and beautiful structure. Bonnie finished her Championship faster than any other dog I have ever owned~! She finished in 4 weekends. And the last show was the most exciting, beating over 84 dogs to finish her championship~!

Our lovely girl Eleanor has just begun her show career. We took her out once, and she received 2 points towards her Championship. We look forward to getting her back in the ring this winter to finish that Championship. I have no doubt she will follow in her father and mother's show career and finish quickly~! Watch for future pictures of Eleanor and her show career~!
